Whitechapel Through A Lens: Photography Tours 2018

Develop a view of the East End with award-winning photographer and author Louis Berk

Interested in photographing Whitechapel but don’t know where to start?

Join Louis Berk, author of Whitechapel in 50 Buildings and Secret Whitechapel for a 2-hour guided tour of Whitechapel which terminates at an exclusive location not normally open to the public.

Louis will take you to the places which have featured in his books and work and he will answer your questions and give you his perspective on photography:

  • Why Whitechapel?
  • What makes a good photograph?
  • What equipment do I need to take good photographs?
  • What are the ‘rights and wrongs’ of street photography?

Each tour leaves from outside the Whitechapel Gallery, on Whitechapel High Street (nearest tube Aldgate East) and lasts approximately 2 hours and is 2Km in length.

The tours finish at the hidden oasis of one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in the East End in Brady Street.

It is a rare opportunity to see inside this unique eco-system in the heart of Whitechapel which is not normally open to the public.

PRICE: £15 per person (** includes a £3 donation to the owners of Brady Street to contribute to its maintenance and upkeep).
