Sunday, 1st September 2019, 10-30AM-3pm

Join award-winning photographer, Louis Berk, for his unique photo tour.

Celebrate the 'month of mists and mellow fruitfulness' with a photo tour which combines the most attractive and photogenic streets of Spitalfields, Whitechapel and Stepney Green - with a chance to visit the historic Jewish cemetery of Brady Street, which is not normally open to visitors.

The tour commences at Liverpool Street station at 10:30AM and you will discover Henry VIII's artillery ground, how the Sisters of Mercy provided succour to the homeless of Whitechapel, one of the many ‘Itchy Parks’, the place where Queen and Madonna (and others) recorded their iconic music, the site of the original ‘White Chapel’, the ‘Monster Doss House’ and the educational institution at which Dr Thomas Bernardo began his mission, plus lots, lots more.

With a 30 minute break after visiting the cemetery (nearby Sainsbury's in Whitechapel offers a cafe and toilets) we will continue for another hour or so into the beautiful area of Stepney Green with its amazing early Georgian properties and fascinating social history (recently the backdrop for the BBC drama Taboo starring Tom Hardy).

Throughout the tour I will be referring to my experience as a photographer and the work in my four books containing photography in the area.

Space is limited on this tour so do not hesitate to book quickly to avoid disappointment.

Full joining instructions will be emailed prior to tour.
